Yes thats right its crazy but this might just work! So hear me out...

Most top teams have attacking full backs now, players who can join attacks and yet get back and defend too, giving teams an extra option i.e Evra, Alves and Cole..

Now we all know Raylor is not a long term replacement for Enrique by any stretch of the imagination, so who will fill the gap, well Santon is obviously favourite however his natural side is RB. Now I admit Simmo probably had the best game I’ve seen for a while last night, but Santon is better and better suited to that position..

Jonas has all the perfect attributes he’s strong , has amazing stamina for getting up and down the line, good on the ball, and fast and he can put a foot in when needed... By having Jonas LB we can now play Marv, Ben Arfa or Ferguson on the left hand side, all capable of being very good players, and have arguably way better delivery then Jonas (come on he can’t shoot or Cross).

Maradona used him in this position and said Jonas was first on the team sheet for Argentina, so hes no novice in this position..

Surely this is the future and would suit Pardews “attacking football policy?

Gutierrez looked lost when playing RB for Argentina in the World Cup

  3. Jonas is a ****ing terrible fullback man. He's good at tracking back, but he's just plain ****e at fullback.

His best use his running at defenders, and attacking.

No we just signed Santon, who is an actual left back.

Im aware we have just signed Santon, but this defence looks solid
    ................Santon...........Colloccini...........Taylor..................Jonas...........

That is a europa League standard defence for me with Simmo and Raylor as back up.

Jonas cannot cross to save himself but can defend and I feel we would generate alot more chances with Ferguson Or Marv on the left in a 4-4-2 Or Ben Arfa on the left if we play 5 in midfield..

    No he isn't. He's naturally RIGHT-FOOTED!

  8. From what i've heard, he's a versatile defender that can play RB/LB/CB <ok>

He's BOTH FOOTED. Said so himself last week.

And Simpson's a better defender than Jonas.

Santon is comfortable on both sides. He is comfortable using his left foot, but his right foot is his natural side. He can play left back. As I've said before we were only signing one full back and you don't pass opportunities like him. I think the view will be put him left until we get a natural left sider and he'll switch to his natural position like for Italy 21's. I have only small concerns about him on that side having seen him raped a couple of times in Italy. But Inter had bad days and it was games against Palermo and Sampdoria who had excellent attacks. He is a different coco to the other full backs on pedigree. If he gets anywhere near his top level we will have some player. Jonas? No, not ever for me.

No bother, just glad that he said it so everyone would stop insisting he can only play on the right.

    No. Just no.

    A) jonas' "strength" is all based around shoulder to shoulder running forwards, his ability to hold people off the ball or get his body clearly in front usig strength is debatable at best. They are 2 different abilities.

    B) he doesn't have the positional sense to be a fullback. Mostly due tout not being his natural place and him not being coached in that position. Was very evident at world cup.

    C) one of the best things about him is hi ability to win freekicks. If he goes on a run, falls over, but doesn't get the freekick, we would be left short at the back and susceptible to counter attacks.

    D) I like jonas on the wing an feel in a better team (ours plus a leftback and a decent striker or 2) he would be very useful.

Not so sure about this mate, every time I've seen him he seems to avoid his left foot at all costs. Seems very one footed but I could be wrong
