Jonah? According to the Times. Rodwell is the first player in the history of the league, since 1888, not to win in 35 successive top flight starts!
Why don't we all tweet him and obliterate his very thin confidence? The lad needs support, not more ****e for playing in a generally ****e team.
2 wins without him so he might not be a bad player but just a jinx, there has been players over the years look at Colback. And to edit this have we EVER won a game with him in the team ?
2 wins without Khazri too. Haven't won this season with him in the team and a large number of our fans seem to want him starting every game. I want the best for the club as a fan and that's it. Rodwell is certainly not to blame for that record. Gareth Bale had a very poor record at Spurs and is now one of the top players in the world (not saying Rodwell will be) Nothing buit a conincidence
You can see what Khazri offers though, there are good, tangible reasons that people want him in the side. I don't think you can compare them much less Bale although I do understand the point you're making there.
Aye true but I saw what Khazri offered last season - this season he hasn't been anywhere near that level except for once. I see what Rodwell can offer us in glimpses - he has some very good moments in games overshadowed by some poor ones too.
I've posted before he needs a loan move to begin playing regularly to get his mind match fit - confidence levels are indication of a footballers performance imo. The lad badly needs a confidence boost
Saw Khazri warming up at half time - he's so comfortable on the ball - we need him to play See my post re Rodwell
Part of the reason I want Khazri in the side is that I'm hoping game time will get him up to standard, not so much because he's been particularly good this season. My issue with Rodwell is that I don't know what he offers the side. Every player worth their salt has one thing that they can say they excel at, Khazri's is set pieces, Catts is a leader, Kirchhoff is superb on the ball, Pickford is boss at everything. What's Rodwell's? He's a decent passer but who isn't at this level (apart from Kone) and he's good at shielding players but not actually tackling them. Good in the air supposedly but not so you'd notice really. If only he had some spirit he'd be worth a place in the side.
Can't disagree mind - but we can't afford to carry a player back to form in our position - if we were sitting 10th and 6 points ahead of the bottom 3 then no problem. Stuck between a rock and a hard place really - Jack Rodwell - Jack of all trades - master of none!
You know the subject has been abused to death when we're comparing Roders with Khazri for some strange reason.
