A damn shame. I was actually driving through his old stomping ground in South Auckland this morning, just hours before his cardiac arrest. Very very sad. Not sure it's possible for anyone to ever have the same effect on the game as Jonah did, again. Rest in Peace!

I agree. He transcended the game. Was fortunate enough to meet him once.
Such a shock when you consider he looked so well given his health predicament.

Even for a non-rugby fan like me, Jonah Lomu was a legend. I know I shouldn't but I always think 'steroids' when someone dies of heart failure in their forties, particularly a big guy like Lomu. His kidney condition was being managed as I understand it. Check out the WWF wrestlers over the years that have suffered the same fate. It's incredible.

May not be the case here but it's unusual for a fit man who was an athlete to drop dead.

Dont think it was the case with Jonah, his problems stemmed back to as far as his early 20's. Chronic kidney conditions like his often cause heart problems. I take your point though.

Greatness is a word used too often, but not in this case. Jonah Lomu - a truly remarkable rugby player.
