Can totally see why Warnock was determined to sign him and disappointed to lose him. Now that Stoke are doing so well, with Crouch signing etc, it seems very unlikely he could be persuaded southwards. Fair play to the lad, he must feel he made the right decision by going to Stoke who will do very well this season (a rather different Stoke from the one we beat 4:2 a few seasons back).
Stoke are a perfect example of how to succeed in the PL. I remember our 3-0 win over them in their promotion season when LDC was our manager, we played them off the park and you'd have bet your mortgage on them coming straight back down in their first season. But Pulis has stuck to his game plan, bought well and turned them into one of the most solid mid-table sides in the PL. No-one will relish playing them and that's something we can aim for in time...
Would have been another shrewd signing by Warnock. I, long with most, was unimpressed when we were linked with him. In Neil We Trust.
Some Ipswich fans even offered to drive him to Stoke just to get rid. And if this is something to go by then i'm as excited as ever to see how Warnocks latest signings fare. I actually think Mackie is very similar to Walters, just hope he gets back to his best soon.
Hang on, as I remenber nobody to a man wanted him when Warnock showed interest, he basically wins a dodgy penalty and scores it, now he would have been a shrewd signing. He is no better than anyone we have, eeeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaaawwwwwwwwwwww.
loveit. Not true. He either scored or created a very good chance in their Chelsea game. Useful player.
he was stoke's joint top scorer last season and was praised for his good performances, cant be too bad Loveitupthebush
