Over on Echo site there is an interview with Seijs about the Watford game where he scored from 30 yd (video of goal shown). He said that the 20 games he played for Saints were the best games of his life and he always looks for saints matches and watched highlights. I think that's a lovely thing to say.
Always thought he was a decent player, shame it didn't work out for him at Saints due to the club's financial situation at the time. Fair play to him for saying complimentary things about our club though. He currently plays at Steve De Ridder's old club, De Graafschap and was a big part in De Ridder making the choice to come to Saints. Whether that has paid off for De Ridder and Saints is open for debate ! By the way his name is Jan not Jon.
Went to that game and as a result I will always have fond memories of him. I'm lucky that, in the horrible 08/09 season, I probably some of the high points - winning at previously unbeaten at home reading, and a fantastic game at watford
Was that the game where it was too easy to score from corners? You could just aim for the near post and have your tallest guy stand there and he would get into double-figures for the season. I remember I once invented this routine where my corners would all go to Cesar Delgado who was standing unmarked at the edge of the area, and he'd thump in a screamer almost every time
His loan ended, Saeijs wanted to come back and asked Pardew about the possibility, but Pardew said he wanted someone else
Yeah I think it was actually...I do remember a lot of his goals were headers FM09 was the first FM I got, and my first goal was scored by Nathan Dyer....he scored straight from a corner....
