from BBC Fulham appoint Martin Jol as new manager Page last updated at 07:56 GMT, Tuesday, 7 June 2011 08:56 UK Fulham have appointed Martin Jol as their new manager following the departure of Mark Hughes last week. The former Tottenham and Ajax boss joins Fulham on an initial two-year contract, with the option to extend it for a further year. Jol said: "I am very happy to join Fulham. It is a club with good, solid foundations and a great fan base. "I am looking forward to being part of the Fulham family and thank the chairman for the trust shown in me." More follows. Now there's ambition from Fayed. Let's see if Chris Hughton joins him as assistant. Wonder if he can get them back into Europe again next year.
Fulham are a well established and settled team with quality players (Zamora, Dempsey, Hangaland) and in my eyes are a team we should be aiming to emulate as we are anything but settled and I bet the only player people outside of Sunderland could name is Gyan, we need to get a ****ing team together, I am pretty fed up with a completely different team every season.
