Surprised at that because the atmosphere was pretty flat in the first half, but was better in the 2nd..
Amazed that the Hawthorns was joint second cos it was like a morgue. All you could hear on Sky was our lot singing.
Utd? Must be all the prawn sarnies getting munched. Mind you, 75,000 people SHOULD make a bit of noise!
That's cos I'm in there man!!! Have to say the atmosphere in the South Stand, since I moved there from the North, is far better than the other end. I sit right next to the red and white stripe that covers the seats 3 rows back from the walking concourse bit (upper bit) with my boy and my nephew right in front of me. Must be close to you Reg
It was measured in the first minute of each game, the highest point taken as the 'sample'. With it being a minutes silence followed by a 'roar', it's unsurprising that we won that test given we have the biggest crowd, the Palace fans will have been responsible for that as well. I think them dB's are still quite a bit off the all time scores mind, which the bindippers won IIRC.
Duo hail SoL atmosphere Published: 11 November, 2014 by Oscar Chamberlain Defensive duo praise Sunderland supporters. Anthony Reveillere and Costel Pantilimon both hailed the Stadium of Light’s atmosphere following Sunday’s 1-1 draw with Everton. Both players made their home debuts in the Barclays Premier League as Seb Larsson’s sensational free kick secured a point against the Toffees. Speaking post-match the French defender admitted that the standard of support was no less than he expected, after sampling the Sunderland fans superb support at Selhurst Park last week. “It was a really good atmosphere,” said Reveillere. “Already at Crystal Palace there were 2,000 supporters who made a lot of noise so it was no less than I expected. “The supporters got behind the team throughout and they really spurred us on to score the first goal, staying with us to help us go on and pick up a good result.” He added: “It is an excellent stadium and it really was a pleasure for me to play there.” Like Reveillere, Goalkeeper Pantilimon made his first league appearance of the season against Palace. And despite playing at the Stadium of Light in the Capital One Cup the Romanian shot-stopper was thoroughly impressed by the Wearside faithful on his home league debut. “The supporters were fantastic today and I loved playing in front of them. “Their backing didn’t let up for the entire 94 minutes and with their support and with performances like that great things are possible.”
I moved from the south stand to North west upper start of last season and the noise doesnt travel well in the stadium. I thought the atmosphere was dead on Sunday and is generally quite flat, from where im sitting.
I sit in the South side of the ground and I tend to agree with you..It did pick up in the 2nd half and the anti ref chants were quite loud, but the singing in general comes from a very small section in the South Stand..
I noticed that EVERY game C palace supporters are always standing, which is against the law so where are the stewards ?
