A boy who was in school with me turned down Rangers, Chelsea and Arsenal to go out to an American uni on a "Soccer Scholarship" they paid his degree and all his living costs then found him a job as a youth coach as soon as he was finished. He's a massive Gers fan as well, I was sure he was going to sign for them. Probably ended-up with an easier life than playing in the SPL though.
I'm with Nev, so many good players at school ended up as boozebags. Boy I went to school with was ****ing amazing at football, you just couldn't get near the ****. One day though, I was rushing to get the bus home and this **** runs past me, I got to the bus stop just as the bus was driving away, this boy had missed his bus too, he then started punching himself in the face!! I tried not to laugh as this **** raging against his own coupon, but I reckon that was one of the reasons he never made it.
A guy from my school was on Rangers' books at U16 level and they were looking at getting him signed up to pro forms ... **** turned up to a training session with the U21s pished ... Rangers kicked him out! He's deid now... Naw, he's a live and well! Well, not well - a total jakey ...but alive Naw, he is actually deid! Didn't want to be too morbid! Of course not - I have no idea! Not seen him since school!
