Nice sentiment but he would be better off being dismissive of such talk at the moment.

It's not impossible, but he'd be better advised to wait until we hit the Premiership before talking about Europe !

Bold statement, but somewhat risky. He's setting himself up for failure with comments like these.

Forget rival fans NickH - our OWN fans will remind him of this when we lose our first game!!!!!!

he was asked the question and he and answered it, better that than some mealy mouthed answer about five years of consolidaton.

Why on earth would he come out with this kind of unwarranted positivity unless he has fallen in with the corporate wafflers and decided to tow the line. Nice one Lee, but players make the team and not buzzwords from the "Acme book of managerial prophecies" to try and fool the punters. Perhaps it's all part of the next 5 year plan.

That's true, it's just a really big ask. Bar a Leicester-type miracle, I think reaching the Europa League is Bristol City's absolute max potential of achievement.

No harm to dream, but arguably our no 1 priority is simply staying in the Championship!

'our OWN fans will remind him of this when we lose our first game'

Not our first game or even our second.

Leicester proved last year that an outsider CAN do it (win the prem) but without belittling them, they were fortunate to be competing in a league when 4 of the big 5 were in turmoil (that league was Arsenals to lose - and they managed it!)
It will probably be done again, but not for 15-20 years!

    Why is it so impossible...?

Remember how we all laughed at Southampton's Nicola Cortese's statement about European Football in 5 years when they were in league One in 2010. Not so far fetched now is it...

Can't even see us reaching the Premiership within 5 years yet alone Europa League personally, I'd be happy with us constantly finishing in the top 10 in this league for the next 5 years, much better than going backwards. small steps and all that

Steve Lansdown came out and said people were taking the mickey out of us and then Lee comes up with this and the world goes on it's oblivion.

From what I heard he said it tongue in cheek, but good to see everyone jumping in.

Why do football fans seem to take everything literally?

He was clearly being sarcastic with a hint of 'why not show some ambition' about him.. if he said languishing in league one, I could understand it. the pessimism shown here sums us up as a fanbase!
