Interesting article which shows that Johnson will be a drain on our resources next season, Arnason wants out and Bhasera has vanished somewhere... http://www.thisisdevon.co.uk/Midfielder-fit-pre-season-training/story-12806488-detail/story.html Thoughts?
As with Zubar, there's a balance to be struck between the wages some of these guys are on and their value in the team. I guess if Arnason left and saved a big wage so we could bring in a couple of keen youngsters and we started with Johnson & Fletcher in centre midfield, that wouldn't be such a bad outcome? Is not being able to contact someone in Zimbabwe unusual?
True enough Distant. I think an senior commanding presence of Fletcher and Johnson (who are likely to be Captain and V/C respectively next season) in CM can only be good. Arnason has come on leaps and bounds this season and I hope he moves on to better things, if he leaves that is. As for Bhasera, I imagine he will be off in January next season. I think he is a good attacking player but useless on the back foot at times. Hopefully a good price will be reached.
Although i regard Damien Johnson as a top footballer we just cant keep him, we have to move him on as quick as possible to minimise that wage bill that is still dragging behind us and hanging around our neck like a noose. Huddersfield Town surely can strike a deal with Damien and his agent?? Good luck Damien to where ever you end up just a shame we didnt see more of you in the green jersey
He made about 20 appearances in 2009/10 season Plymborn. I think we were playing in green back then (at least at home).
I was referring to his playing time with us in the Championship Mr Plymborn, i think he made a good 20 odd appearances for us in the second part of our relegation season although maybe mistaken with amount of appearances
Sorry I made a mistake, he did play during the 2009/10 season, just shows what a lasting impression he left on me. That shouldn't be an excuse but of course the whole team weren't leaving much of an impression on anyone. Just shows when you get old the memory tends to remember the past more than what has happened in recent years, thats probably a bonus when you examine the recent history of Argyle............I'll be making some of you younger ones jealous that your memory can't do that.
