It's not only Racing post trophy day at Doncaster or Old Roan day at Aintree but it's Johnny Murtagh day at Newbury, at least i hope it is after just combining so many of his mounts together. Joking aside he does have a great book of rides at Newbury and the first three races should provide a winner or two at least, whilst even his less fancied chances are not without a chance. To this end i will be mounting a Johnny Murtagh watch throughout the afternoon.

His rides are as follows

1.40 Westwiththenight well regarded, run creditibly in better maiden when tenderly ridden (7-4 2nd no chance with winner)
2.15 Saigon Class horse in the field, beaten 1 1/4 length in group one last time out )2nd 15-8, very unlucky)
2.45 Beaten up Very progressive horse, trainer knows whats needed through Green destiny form (1st 7-2, won easily, exciting prospect)
3.15 Imelda Mayhem Weak mount but not without ew chance if others underperform (unplaced, 25-1completely outclassed)
3.45 Nanton This horse will be involved at the finish but may want further, EW bet (unplaced 11-1, game race but not enough speed at that distance)
4.55 Deiety Very highly regarded but has disappointed, worth one more try at decent price

Bluesky, I considered backing them all in a sporting EW Heinz.
They all have chances, especially Saigon, Beaten Up, and Nanton. Nanton's a real enigma-just beaten in the Cambridgeshire a couple of times and he's run well in the Ebor- and over longer. I think the gallop is key- he needs a strong pace. I actually think Imelda Mayhem has a definite each way chance:emoticon-0148-yes:
