Intresting words from Vorms agent rubbishing claims made by Van Zweden that alot of clubs are intrested in our keeper. I always thought it was supposed to work the other way round!! Vorms agent had harsh words for our Board memeber saying that "he likes to get his name in the media now and again" he also said that Vorm is having "a fantastic time in swansea " he said Van zwedens comments were just a cynical way of trying to raise his profile. The agant further went on to say " I think it is rubbish (the link to Manchester United, Chelsea, Tottenham and Newcastle). "He's been there (Swansea City) six-months, not even that, so he's having a fantastic time at the club so we see no reason to talk about it." Very strange i must say. Wessel Weezenberg is the agent involed, as agents go he sounds like one of the better ones here is the link http://www.ibtimes.co.uk/articles/2...ive-rubbish-claim-irks-agent-swansea-city.htm
I dont know where Van zwedens gets his info from and i dont really care but weather its right or wrong he should keep quiet about it untill its confirmed one way or the other it can only lead to unsettling things and after all as a Swansea director he should have our best interests at heart and really should know better...so someone slap his wrist
We need to be untied in the boardroom on how we will fend off, the vultures that will surely descend come summer, and it's a bit worrying when our director John van Zweden, states in the media, that, both Manchester United and Chelsea had made their interest known in Vorm, while Tottenham are also monitoring his progress, then we get the club subsequently attempting to extinguish suggestions that Vorm could leave the club, with an emphatic statement, "We have not received any enquiries about Michel Vorm." which is true, we might well ask? but one thing is for sure, and it is summed up by van Zweden, when he said, "It would be a nightmare for us if he left." and I'm sure we'd all agree with that, but these are early days, and our unity and resolve are going to be tested, and we will only succeed in fending off these 'Fat Cats' if we are united in our resolve, to keep our best players, once we start to go down the route of selling, then I'm afraid, the great football revolution here at Swansea will be over, and that's my biggest fear, though I would say that the one bright light is Huw Jenkins, he's no pushover, regarding these vultures, as he showed with Ferrie Bodde, and I'm sure he's up to the task, I must say that this is one of Jenkins strongest virtues, his ability to keep our best players, and he'll be earning his salary this summer.
This Director of ours needs to be recalibrated and quick. He is not the official mouth-piece of the club and all matters of the club including players and our communications with other clubs should be maintained in strict confidence.
Looks like Van Zweden has been a bit of a muppet on this one! "Shut up. Toe the line, son." As has been said, Vorm played for Utrecht so can't be bought, which makes me think he's just a bit of a mad Dutch bastard. Van Zweden, that is.
Don't know what Van Zweden thinks he's doing. Even if these clubs had inquired surely he wouldn't want to advertise that. All very strange, even stranger that Vorm's agent has said that Vorm doesn't want to move. Can't wait for January to be over! Jenkins, switch off your phone and take the battery out!
I reckon Huw has had his voicemail on since 12:00am on the 1st of January! Go on Huw! I love the idea that he'd be funny with rejecting bids, you know? "Hi, we're interested in <insert player here>" "20 million" "But..." "20 million" "Oh...ok. Never mind."
Our Chairman is the only member of the Board that should speak to the media about the Swans. I know some of you have criticised him in the past but I think he usually plays a blinder.
Completely agree Knackered! He's the figure head of the board for a reason so he can deal with all of this and no other members of the board should do so unless it has been cleared!
He didn't play a blinder, with the Sousa debacle, and the pressure got to him, and it showed in the media statements he made in the cat and mouse game he played over Sousa. That said I do think that eventually Jenkins will have to appoint a discerning media officer, where her or she will handle all the media politics of the club, and answer directly to the board only, as there will be too much work as the club develops and establishes itself as a Premiership team, hopefully!................ please log in to view this image
Hmmm.... may have been the odd slip but he gets it right most of the time. Understated, doesn't blow our trumpet too much and just goes about the business of running it behind the scenes. You can keep the likes of Ridsdale.
Jenkins knew exactly what to do with Sousa & it worked to a tee , Sousa left . Huw don't need lessons in anything ... he should be giving lessons to other chairman !
We even got paid for Sousa to leave. Jenkins knows exactly what to do. Up here for thinking, down there for dancing as it were.
