Vile person. Wish he would retire from all football not just England

He's a yob, a thug, a racist, and a cheat and that's just the bits we know about him

    'He's a yob, a thug, a racist, and a cheat'.

You're most probably correct but if you're referring to the Ferdinand case was he not proved innocent ?
Not that it matters but I'd believe him and Ashley Cole ahead of the Ferdinands.

As a player I rated him, but time moves on and hope other 'senior' players make way for some new blood.
Will it make England more successful, I very much doubt it but I'd hope it would rekindle my interest in the England team.

I've been waiting for over 30 years to see 'new blood' reinvigorate the England team, I think I'll probably have to wait 30 more....

Interesting to note that in his criminal trial he got found 'innocent' on the basis of Ashley Cole's evidence which was in complete contrast to the video evidence. As such, the judge could not direct the jury to convict Terry because the burdon of proof in a criminal case is beyond all reasonable doubt. Cole's testimony probably meant that the jury were 98% certain that Terry had been racially offensive towards Ferdinand and as such cannot convict because they were not 100% convinced.

The FA hearing is on the balance of probabilities so as long as they are satisifed that they are 51% sure that Terry made those comments they will punish him with a punishment they believe is fit in the circumstances. On this basis Terry is fudged and that's why he resigned. I have no sympathy for the bloke and believe that he like many other England internationals in the so-called golden generation was over-hyped. England should take note of Germany's blueprint for creating a dominant international side just as they did in after their debacle in Euro 2000.

    Matt.

Are you saying Cole's evidence was lies.
Can't remember exactly, I wasn't that interested but during the trial Terry admitted using racialist words but said was 'repeating what Anton had said'.
Now don't ask me why Ferdinand said such words but that's what Cole corroborated. I think.
    If I'm wrong I apologise.

    It's football I'm never wrong about <whistle>

Ashton Matt makes a very good point about the burden of proof being different from a court trial and the FA hearing - that's the crux of the entire thing.

At least he s done the right and decent thing in quitting the team, unlike the other whinging racist Ferdinand!! Rio needs to understand that Racism is a 2 way street, but still he doesn't.

    I agree with this.
Time for Caulker, but we still need Ferdinand if he is fit.
