    Jamie Carragher, rock of the Liverpool defence and for me and one of their most consistent performers over the last 8-10 years. In an in depth interview he was asked 'Who are the top five defenders you have ever seen'

    His answer was;
    1) Paolo Maldini
    2) Franco Baresi
    3) John Terry
    4) Roberto Ayala
    5) Marcel Desailly

    Then goes on to say;

    "If your surprised that I have included John Terry in my five, don't be. John Terry in my view is just an unbelievable player. He gets a lot of stick but I would have him in my team all day long. He's got everything as a defender: strong, brave, brilliant on the ball, commanding, fearless, great passer. What a player"

    Praise Indeed <ok>
