The last four games JS has lead the line superbly, three goals as well,Brett Pitman looks good alongside him, their goalkeeper yesterday made some outstanding saves from Brett. I'm still 100% sure these two will score the goals to keep us up. Keep with them Del they are doing us proud. Brilliant last four games from JS keep it up.
With Cisse for my man-of-the-match v Baadiff. Looks our most effective and authentic player at the moment, with Cisse & brett not far behind
That was among Cisse's best performances in a City shirt. He seemed to be everywhere and looked comfortable where in other games he's sometimes appeared a bit... rough on the ball. It was the sort of role Marvin Elliott was doing a relatively good job of when we've played a 442 in the past.
Stead now appeaqrs to be fit and benefiting from a run of games - we have not seen this form from him since October 2010
Don't change a good thing and we will win games no doubt. Looking at our poor record and lack of goals when this lad didn't play only highlights the need for his inclusion. We are playing better of late and we need to keep playing our current set-up to continue our assault on safety.
IMHO he's the best player we have at the club. I know some will say Albert but in terms of consistency, work rate and attitude there's no one better. He works his balls off when he pulls that red shirt on. It's a shame we couldn't have 11 Steads! I know he made that tweet earlier this season and it was unprofessional but I think it showed the determination and desire in the guy rather than having a pop at the management.
The only fault I can find in stead is that because of his high work rate he goes out wide too much and he is the one crossing the ball where I want the big man in the box getting on to the end of things and think he would score more if he spent more time in the box. I wouldn't mind seeing Wood start up front with Stead in the next game as my problem with Pitman is he just isn't consistant.
Stead only goes out wide because as Matt said he is constently looking for the ball. I have no problem with that but he does tend to burn himself out towards the end of games. We did try him with Woods but the other way round, I guess with Steads passing this idea could work as I think Woods goal scoring record, he is due a return in luck and get us some goals.
Could it be though that Stead going to the wings occasionally pulls people out of the middle and creates gaps for our midfield players to run through. It works for Rooney. Only trouble is we dont have a Scholes in midfield to capitalise.
If we had stead playing earlier in the season alongside Brett I don't think we would be where we are now. I was screaming from the roof tops for them to be given a chance. They both look dangerous and compliment each other well. Stead is by far the better if you are choosing between him and wood.
