Just read on a rumours site that we might be interested in signing him on a free. He's had a couple of terrible years due to injury, but before that he was one of the top centre-halfs in World football. He's 29 now. Does anyone think he'd be worth a gamble? Ben Davies has been a revelation. We'd never really heard of him before the tour to the USA. What other gems do we have in our system.
Don't get me wrong, I'd like to see Situ given a chance....but the majority who watch him regularly say he's not ready. That seems to be the club view as well as he hasn't even made the bench despite Chico, Bartley and Monk being out. Hope he and a few of the other young defenders get some action against Crawley as, unless we get someone in on a free, we need to throw them in and see if they swim. This situation could happen again, and I for one don't fancy depending on Alan Tate (but that's not saying much as I didn't fancy him in League 1 never mind the Premier!)
