What did you think of McCririck's stance against Carlton House on The Morning Line today? He seems absolutely adamant that Carlton House will not win The Derby, despite most of TML team tipping it up. The last time I saw him so convinced about anything was when he told us all that Zafonic would hack up in the 2000 Guineas (not exactly rocket science I know, but he still put his neck on the block at the time).

A lot of people may not like the guy but he's not afraid to express his opinion and say exactly what he thinks. Anybody who listened to him this morning couldn't possibly back Carlton House for The Derby now, or could they??

He likes the sound of his own voice and he often says things just for the sake of being controversial. He's right about Carlton House, though. The nag can't win!!!

McCririck was on The One Show last night making sure that everybody knew that he thought Carlton House would not win.

I do not think that will put the housewives off backing it, but the horse does not know who owns it and that is a large part of why it is favourite.

I do not think it will win although I would be delighted for Her Majesty if I am wrong and it would get the sport the maximum amount of publicity it could get from one race. It is a shame that Frankie is not on it - if he won he could do a flying dismount for The Queen!

After the awful ride Frankie gave Blue Bunting yesterday, it's probably just as well he's not riding it ;)

I have to say though, 3/1 is a very reasonable price about Carlton House. He's the class horse of the race and surely Michael Stoute wouldn't be running him if there was any doubt about the horse's fitness? Granted he's owned by The Queen but even she would understand if the horse had to be taken out at the last minute. She's a horsewoman and she's already experienced the highs and lows of the racing game to know that nothing can be taken for granted.
