    I really only know the Solid Air album ... I think I was put off John Martyn by a lecturer I had who was a beardy, woolly jumper hippy type who was always going on about him, so, unlike george michael I just cant listen without prejudice.

    He was the geography teacher type with leather patches on his sleeves but a mate of mine used to play him in the '90's and I found him very mellow and enjoyable.I knew damn all about him till he died and of all the places to die was Ireland and not in good shape by all accounts.I heard stories but who cares all artists have their flaws!
