John from 606

So what, Defoe looked like the best striker in the world at 16. I have seen nothing to suggest that in adult football he will be exceptional.

Lupoli was good but he was just a goal scorer

Bendtner was an all round player. He had skills, dribbling ability, could pass a ball like fabregas. He was just an exiciting player to watch. barcelona, Ac milan were all after him at younger age!

Bendtner is a better footballer than jay emmanuel thomas.

People shouldnt be judging jay thomas in the reserves!m lol

hes practically been up against under 18 defences in the reserves.

And hes a guy who relies on his strength, power/

Bendtner was always a technical, clever footballer. He relied on his feet more than his body. Its only recently hes bulked up put on some muscle. He was a very skinny guy

Have to trust Wenger's judgement on which youngsters are good enough I guess! Luck plays a part though, if we hadn't had all those injuries in goal keeping position then Szczesny may have left us but now he is our number 1 keeper. Funny how these things turn out.

Meh, Bendtner's 1st touch has been the worst part of hid game for as long as I can remember. Occasionally it will be genius but I would never describe him as a technical player.

As for John i think he is a good poster when he isn't talking about Nasri

It seems i was right about Samir nasri. He wants to be the highest paid player at the club. Fabregas is on £90,000 a week nasri wants £110,000!

You don't know that. Unless you have been sitting in during the contract negotiations, you've no idea what money Nasri is asking for. Stop talking **** John.

John always used to wum on the Stoke boards. He would post a few negative things (Needlessly) and then out of the blue post how he actually respected Stoke, Pulis etc etc. He was a very strange man.

shame if bendtner goes.

i understand what John is saying. it DOES upset the wage structure if a player who has performed, but not consistently, is given big money. fact is tho, this is a special case.

if he had 3 years left on his contract, you could wait another 18 months to see if he performs again, and again, before you offer him big money. since he only has a year left, you have to either speculate on continued performance and offer him big bucks, or say he's not going to be worth that, even in 3 years time, and sell him now.

if he's done that well this season, will his contribution improve further next season? he's not at his peak yet, but in 2 / 3 years he will be. if he can add more assist and keep hitting 15 goals a season, he's worth the money.

the only real decision is was it a one-off or is that going to be his constant from now on?

i don't agree that he's at cesc / rvp level now, but he could be in a couple of years. in fact, i'd expect him to be that valuable in 2 years. so should he have the money?
