Just read his and Steve's comments and it sounds positive to me. I like the part about expecting high standards - it implies a bit of man motivation which I think we'll be missing without Ollie. https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/john-eustace-named-qpr-assistant-manager/
Not a very exciting appointment, but hopefully cheap. Looks a bit scary, though - probably a disciplinarian.
McClaren speaks very highly of him. He's done the ground work in the lower leagues and likes to get sides playing a good style of football, maybe this is what we needed, 2 good, forward thinking coaches looking to play an attractive style with a group of players who are are young enough to want to improve themselves........ BTW didn't Eustace score for Derby against us at their place during the Play Off season in a boring 1-0 defeat? Think that's where i know his name from.....
McClaren is bound to want to bring in his own team if he thinks he needs them. Happens all the time and I don't see the harm in wanting people you can trust to help you get settled in. Loads of managers have their own entourage these days so I'm not particularly worried.
No problem with the appointment but more to come according to the official site. I'm just hoping that nothing happens to unsettle the youth development set-up that clearly has something good going on.
Unless of course that means he moves on the guys we didn't want to lose in which case heaven help Eustace and Stevie Mac if the wheels come off. Yet to be convinced that every manager needs his own entourage around him. If he is good he should be able to get something out of the existing incumbents. If he isn't why does the club he is joining need his tried and trusted cronies.
I don’t have any insights on him so it is difficult to comment. I just wish him every success and look forward to seeing the fruit of his work on the pitch. I really hope that with this new “coaching” set we really see some player and tactic improvement. COYR’s!
i think we must all be optamistic as theres no point in worrying about a situation which dosnt even exist
I actually like the idea that McClaren hasn’t picked someone as his coach he has worked with before - he has asked someone who he feels is the right personality and has already shown himself to be an aspiring coach. As a recent player he will still have that closeness to the players and the youth players who are developing. I feel optimistic about the pairing. It’s all about the results and the style though...
