The former states there is no buy option at the end of loan. BBC states we can buy him at thr end of loan. Most would say BBC i imagine but the figure theyre touting hardly seems realistic €8mil.
I'd take the beeb anyday. Like i said on another thread, John Cross is about as reliable as an italian car.
BBC. John Cross takes a scatter gun approach to these things. He is bound to be right sometimes, but he is also wrong a lot of the time.
most loan deals often come with the option to buy at the end of the season, so i see no reason why that wouldn't be the case here, i don't really think Sahin features at all in Madrid's future plan, whether it be this season, or next, they're adequately covered in midfield.
Then why is he always so mean about us? If he's a fan, couldn't he at least use his column to portray us in a posistive light?
Strange, I've rarely read one of his articles and thought he was being overtly negative about Arsenal.
Well its pretty obvious this is the reason the deal is taking time. My hypothesis is that... 1. Mourinho would prefer Sahin to go to Liverpool 2. Sahin has said he wants to come to Arsenal. (does'nt want to go to Liverpool) 3. Madrid and Arsenal are in talks over the deal. Arsenal want an 'option to buy' at the end of the loan 4. Mourinho is reluctant to give us that option. Hopefully we can persuade them. Madrid still have a HUGE squad a Mourinho only generally uses around 20-22 players. If I was Wenger I would be trying to temp Higuaine also.
Could anyone please explain how does this "option to buy" work ? Does that mean the player has already agreed to stay with us if we decide to keep him? Or it is up to him to decide next summer whether to stay or not, provided we want to keep him? Does that mean another round of negotiations re his terms if he stays? I am not quite sure why do we need a midfielder on loan. The only reason would be to give Wilshere more time to come back. But at the same time Sahin will need time to settle. And by the time he will have settled, Wilshere will be back and will need to play. I am sure Wilshere is Arsene's priority more that any other player in the squad. Then we have Rosicky who was excellent last spring, the guy looks doomed now. ( Actually Rosicky was the one we missed more than anyone against Sunderland). If it will be up to Sahin whether to stay or go, I can not see why would Sahin stay, unless he plays week in week out, and Mourinho tells him that with Modric he is not needed. And if he does not want to stay his priority by the spring will be to avoid any injuries before he goes back to Madrid. As Arsene say IN ALL it all looks unduly complicated. And on top of that all he is not a DM.
Yes, because when loaning him, we'll probably be paying his current Madrid contract. The option to buy just binds Real Madrid and means if we bid a certain amount, they can't reject it, so we'll be straight to terms with Sahin.
I listened to Amy Lawrence podcast on Arseblog, she definitely is an Arsenal fan and she was spot on in her judgments. Well worth listening.
I found out she was an Arsenal fan when The Observer published a photo of her at the 1998 FA Cup Final. As i recall they let her file a match report from the Arsenal end at Wembley rather than from the press box
