    Is against Lawro this week in the prediction thing on bbc sport ....well i had forgotten all about him blimey hes older than me ,in the seventies he was called the punk poet and i remember seeing him supporting the sex pistols and also the band called be bop delux ,from manchester i think ,i right blast back to my hey days,glad hes still hanging in there .

    I saw him in Sheffield, or was it Barnsley, years ago Stu.

    Hasnt aged a day. He looked ****ing old then!!!!

    For a guy who was always on the edge and nervy hes done well to survive ,them punk days were something else ,plus there was nothing to him apart from a huge shock of back combed hair

    Totally agree Stu. He was on Never Mind The Buzzcocks a few weeks ago. Couldn't believe he was still alive!!

    55 yrs young Stu. I've got this memory of coming home from work one Friday night and he was on The Tube. I just thought he was mad! Bought a cassette, Style Method, or something like that.

    Had mates at Sheffield Uni around that time, they came back home talking about him.

    He was just off the wall. You didn't see performance poets around then I guess, not like him anyway.

    Long time ago anyway.

    Saw him decades ago. He was awesome then and he's awesome now. One of his poems was recited at my mate's funeral and had the right effect - still makes me smile.
