How bloody sad....such a great player and it was his philosophy that made Barcelona the force they are today. RIP http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11095/10216592/johan-cruyff-dies-of-cancer-at-age-of-68
Sad loss to football.. One of my abiding memories is watching the 74 world cup when he did that turn.
Another legend has left the pitch and it's sad to say that not many players of todays bunch will ever reach that status of respect. R.I.P. Johann.
What a player - we were so lucky to see one of the 'greats'. Cruyff commanded respect on and off the pitch.
3 greatest players ever - Pele, Maradona and Cruyff However Cruyff is arguably one of the 3 best coaches ever The man leaves football with a remarkable legacy
I did the Cruff turn many a time in games, and when I didn't trip myself up it fooled the defenders every time.
Remember seeing it happen live (the Cruyff turn) on the telly back in 1974. I watched in amazement at a wondrous piece of skill that must have been replicated in every school playground for years after. They had a great team too at that time and should have won one or both of the World Cup finals that they were in in the 70s
It was Cruyff in 74 that made me always like the Dutch team as the ones to watch in all tournaments since.
Cruyff, Neeskins, Krol, Haan, Van Hanagem, Keizer, Van der Kerkhof, Rensenbrink, Jonny Rep…. The names just trip off the tongue. If only our team could produce such magic, but sadly we have the Premiership greed instead
