Well, as President Lyndon Johnson said of J Edgar Hoover "I'd rather have him inside the tent pissing out, than outside the tent pissing in"
First decision by Hughes is a good decision. Can't see any benefit stripping him of the armband, this should def spur him on to perform better for us.
He clearly won't have the armband as he waits at home on Saturday sitting out his ban. So who will have it?
I'm sure Barton wouldn't have been his choice but agree it would probably not be a good idea to strip him of the captaincy now that he has it.
Why are you so sure? Barton is probably the most experienced PL player we have, with the reputation of leading from the front (a reputation that gets ignored against his less welcome reputations) and he'll make sure that people know if they are slacking. I can see a fair bit of the Sparky of old in Joey Barton's playing style.
