Two tweets in the last half hour that really probably are the final nail in his coffin, I cannot see him playing at this club next season.

    - Just on my way to Ascot, feel sick. #whatgoinonatthetoonffs

    - Great player, leader, captain, person, trainer and mostly a friend for life. Devastated to see him SOLD! #mejoseandjonasnext

Now Im sure it is gutting for him as they did seem great mates but expressing it publicly like this is not the way.

On a more concerning note I think these tweets show that the dressing room spirit that had carried this team for the past two years is all but dead.

A transfer window that started out so positive is falling apart around us.

An optajoe tweet - 0 - Newcastle United won none of the eight Premier League games that Kevin Nolan missed in 2010-11. Howay. - says it all really

Great stat that! I always thought we performed worse without him. As for JB, I think he's just being truthful and telling it how it is. I know it's unprofessional but it's better than lying and sugar-coating it as if we're all idiots.

The twitter was set up with just this intent, turning more fans against Ashley to further the player power, or just to get him the contract he wanted.

wouldn't go that far like we've just signed a French international a highly rated one at that.linked to some really good players still got ages to go before the season starts i'd say i was full of optimism tbh

    all power to him

Ashley & Lambias have proved time & time again that they fight dirty.

Quite happy for Joey to put forth his views publicly. Player power isn't a problem when those players are performing in the interest of the fans, and the owners aren't.

If you read the replies to some of his tweets it is ridiculous. He has never said anything about it not being the fans and defending them despite the amount of people coming out with the deluded arguement and #geordiescum tags.

Seems some people can't handle the truth. We cry out for it, and when it is given, people complain <doh>

    who's complaining

it's obvious that the club (fm/dl) and Barton are at war and the end bit on his tweet is to do exactly what has happened and stir us up

Loads, twitter, on here. He tells us pretty much what's going on, and people don't like it.

Is he really telling it as it is though? He has an agenda too. Maybe if he hadn't started the twitter account to strengthen his negotiating position I wouldn't be so cynical of him, but can't help but think he's trying to play us, just as Ashley has done in the past.

I love it. Finally a fresh and honest view from a player. It just shows that he seems to be on the same wavelength as most fans.

Huge difference between telling us what's going on and putting a highly unprofessional remark on there as well as dragging 2 other professional players' names into it. I'm all for freedom of speech and all that and the body of his tweet was exactly what we'd expect/want to hear from him but the hashtag was completely unnecessary.

Sorry Leazes but it's things like this that sway fans decisions and stirs the pot even more. The last thing we need is another FCB out scenario that resulted in poor performances and results during the relegation season.

If an employer makes a decision to let an employee go and another employee tweeted something like that, he would be sacked in an instant.

I am not defending Ashley in any way, the club will be better off without him and further players will probably be sold but this sort of behaviour shouldn't happen.

I think Joey should be applauded for not being afraid to speak his mind. I also think his Twitter feed is more entertaining than any other footballer or celebrities I've read. He also has a lot of time for the fans and hates the owner, so he's basically one of us.
