    Hi, Newcastle fan here

What do you think of Joey Barton? All he has done since he has signed for you is talk about Newcastle, slag us off etc. He is bitter about getting forced out

My mate supports you lot so he is pleased about the signings you are getting in but he said he is thinking of burning his QPR top now you have signed Barton

Any of you in the same predicament?

Good luck for the rest of the season, apart from against us obviously ;)

Have a feeling that Barton will be a big, big signing for us.

No doubting his talent, arguably your best player now, but he is a cock and not too sure if he cares too much about QPR, no offence

from what i have read and seen, he hasnt slagged you ( NUFC fans ) off.he has however, had a pop at your owners, as have many toon fans.

he does seem bitter about being forced out, but as a QPR fan i can only hope this spurs him on and he has a point to prove.

ironic that our next game is against you guys.

are you worried about facing him?

I think it is safe to say that our opinions are divided with regard to Mr Barton. If you care to look back through a few pages of this forum you will find a few threads about him, including input from your own Smudger.

If anyone can keep in check then Sir Neil can. As for him caring, I guess we'll have to just wait & see!

Yeah I'm sure he will be fired up to face us. I think Neil Warnock should ban him from using twitter (at least if he does then I will forget about him lol)

I have to be honest and say i think Barton and QPR will eventually end in tears, hasn't every club he has played for generally ended this way?

However he is a good player and if he helps us stay in the prem for a second year - it will be well worth it.

What odds Barton gets sent off at some point during his first 5 games? i doubt you would get much from any bookie.

However along with his bollocks comes excitement, you certainly can't accuse him of being boring and i can't wait to see him play for us.

At the minute you do. Just wait until he keeps on tweeting **** all the time. Its all you ever here about him. Bet you will get sick lol

Not denying his ability on the pitch tho. Did well for us for that one season out of four that he was with us ;)

Its a myth that he is a dirty player. He doesn't recieve red cards very often. Only once for us

I see what you mean - i can only see that he has been sent off 3 times in the last 9 seasons which is surprising i would off said it was a lot more.

however the 54 yellow cards would suggest if he is not exactly an innocent puppy dog either.

Do you reckon he will keep his head against Newcastle then or do something daft?

He won't do anything daft I shouldn't think

He still has his heart in Newcastle - just bitter that he was forced to leave. Still has mates here and I think he should get a good reception from our end

The 54 yellow cards are mainly because no one likes him lol. He has a bad reputation so refs take that into consideration

i guess after a few games we will all find out how good / bad he is for us. I personally have always thought that a player might not be successful for team A but with team B they shine. Take Torres purely as example. I have yet to see him shine at Chelsea yet he seemed to be rampant at Liverpool. I say give the guy a chance, then judge.

NW the right man for the job for sure. He seems to have tamed Adel to a certain extent.

If people don’t like his tweets block him and don’t follow, easy.

Most of the bitterness imo is coming from disappointed NUFC fans and I can understand why as he is a huge loss from them but their loss is our gain :)
Now he has the opportunity of joining up with his former room mate from City I can only see him shining for QPR.

    Good luck to him

Actually, I think the added responsibility on Barton's shoulders at QPR as the most Premiership-experienced and influential player in our team may have a good effect on him.
