With his temper and past would he be too much of a risk anyway. He is a quality player no doubt but his temperament is always going to be under question with his past. We was all against signing Marlon King so would be people be so opposed to signing Barton
I thought he had cooled down last season but have to admit if he has a yr left and Newcastle have let him go on free then something is a foot.
Noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
fine player. More likely to go man utd than us though! no problems over his past, he seems rehabilitated so to me he is just as equal.
Joey Barton leaving Newcastle is nothing to do with his past, present or future. Its down to a t**t of a chairman that has no clue on how to run a football club. IMO Barton is a class act, no chance he will sign for you and i just wish people would get off his back. You only have to look at Nolan, Carol & Jose Enrique to see whats happening. The club is ran by a couple of pri**s.
He's been repeatedly slagging off Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias (the people who run the club) on Twitter. So basically he's got what you expect when you slag off your employers publicly.... He'll probably stay though just to piss off Mike Ashley (who'll still be paying his wages)
I was never suggesting that he would come to us, just expressing my surprise. I think he had a great season and will go to a prem, club. My money is on Arsenal. Can't understand Newcastle as they should be able to get 2 million for him. As an aside he is a huge Smiths fan and has even met Mozz on a couple of occasions, last time at Glasto this June.
He has been badmouthing Newcastle, and if the chairman doesnt really care about the money, then cut the wound before it spreads.
Barton even took to quoting George Orwell just before that when he wrote: "In times of universal deceit, telling the truth will be a revolutionary act". Quality! A learned gentleman...Morrissey would be well chuffed
Depends which Joey Barton you get - The knobhead or the decent midfielder? Still suprised let him go on a free though - losing Nolan and Barton methinks Newcastle may struggle?
Im sure the "Ashby out" fans would be out in force if they went down this season, especially with some of the deals that he has done recently.
