Stranger things have happened than Barton playing for LFC, I'm no fan of his past conduct however he is a good player and seems to be at his peak. He also seems to have got a grip on his aggression in the last 12 months.

To be honest I followed him when he joined Twitter just to see him implode but he hasn't at all, he actually comes accross as a reasonable fella!?

So Barton for LFC (as we are crying out for another midfielder right?! :emoticon-0100-smile)

    Thoughts?

No chance, he's not even a good player. Another example of an over hyped Englishmen. And he's a scumbag as well who doesn't deserve a chance to play football.

Disagree - he is a good player that's why he keeps getting chances. Agree he was a scumbag in the past - can a leopard change it's spots?

He's not a good player. He relies on a decent right foot to cross the ball from a standing position. HAs nothing else to his game, similar to Beckham.

Overhyped players - this is why England will never win a major tournament until we realise that players like Barton are not good enough.

No thanks, we have enough midfielders and he's not even particularly good.

I think he's a better player than we've given him credit for in the past but I don't think he's anywhere near good enough to be part of Liverpool's plans. On top of that he's a troublemaker and a git. The only Liverpool player I've actively disliked was Diouf and I'd rather keep it that way.

England will never win anything until we realise that there are a few reasons why England haven't won anything but it's certainly not because of the quality of the players.

No thanks. He's a good player for Newcastle but we have a lot of midfielders and I don't think he would fit into our future plans.

No thanks, aside from the fact he's a toe-rag..He wouldn't add to our squad, only keep it at the same level.

No for me, he's a decent enough player not brilliant but certainly not terrible either. However as other's have said we're currently jam packed with players for the CM Position and despite the fact that he's behaved recently i'm not sure Kenny would take the risk as he demands a high level of professionalism from his players and rightly so for a club such as our selves. I also think the chances of Barton getting in to trouble again would be increased if he moved back to the liverpool area, as i imagine he would get a lot of stick walking around the city center.

I disagree. We constantly big up these players and we even have one of the best coaches in Fabio Capello managing the side (a man who has won literally every domestic trophy possible) but yet we never win? There is a reason why it is very rare that English players move abroad. The only place they're in demand is in England. The likes of Henderson and Carroll worth £55m? It's this price tag which suggests that these players are good enough and the rest of the country will believe it.

English players are not technically gifted. Perhaps the only person who comes close is Jack Wilshere. Referring to a quote by Guardiola - there are plenty of Jack Wilsheres in the Barcelona B team.

I think he would add something - but we already have too many mids.

    No this time.

No way would I want this guy anywhere near Liverpool, I seriously think he's a better player than Gareth Barry though, it's just Barry is not a complete thug.
