A friend texted me last night sugesting we might JB back to introduce some steel in the team. At his best, he was capable of doing that!

I texted back to say he'd never play for QPR again but my mate reminded me of the Tevez fiasco and the end result of that with Tevez back to his best, in the bosom of the fans and Mancini either tolerating him or genuinely putting the past behind.

I know that most of us never want to see him in the Hoops again but what if he were actually part of the solution to the current situation?

The aim is PL safety. If Mancini can do that and even Warnock can refer to hsi new mate Dioufy', would we be able to welcome JB back to Loftus Road if it was felt expedient?

Is all fair in the business of PL survival?

Having posted previously that I never want to see him play for us again, I could change that position if he came back and helped turn things. I suspect some of you could not?

Too risky. The next time he would do something like what he did on last season's last game will actually end up costing us this time as results won't always go our way.

No chance, the players hate him so that would mean certain relegation and Taarabt leaving.

Barton carries too much negative baggage and I don't want him back.

That said, we do need a spine down the team. Cesar is a character, Nelson and Mbia could be the answer at the back (but I wouldn't turn Samba IF he became available). In midfield, Granero is technically gifted but doesn't impose himself enough imo. I'd like to see him less tentative and become El Generale and run the show!

I wouldn't pick him ahead of Granero, Diakite, Faurlin. However, I take the point that we are missing a bit of steel in the middle of midfield. We actually made Leigertwood look good.

I took a mate to Stoke game last season and he said something that only now I can see he said "Barton looks the only one up for it" Looking at it we don't have a leader in the middle of the pitch who gees people up and gets things working when it's not going right, Now yes we have the so called better players this season but there is not a general there, last season when we need big players to get stuck in and show a bit of fight we had Derry,Hill, Mackie and Barton to inspire and get a hold of things, now with only Mackie getting anywhere near the first team we have lost that fight and we ned to get it back before we start winning games. Diakite yes is a good player but I don't think he is a leader like a Derry or Barton in the middle I do think we need to remember what Ollie said “It’s all very well having a great pianist playing but it’s no good if you haven’t got anyone to get the piano on the stage in the first place, otherwise the pianist would be standing there with no bloody piano to play.”

In what way would he be the solution? Diakite and Faurlin are 10 times the player he will ever be. And don't talk to me about his leadership qualities: leaders don't get themselves stupidly sent off in the most important game of the season. Please let's not mention the dick head again on here.

I'm not saying he is the answer, we need a bit of fight which we don't have at the moment and yes Diakite and Faulin are much better players but the don't have that fight at the moment which helps teams tick. I think we miss his presence on the pitch, love him or hate him away from it, he helped last season to keep us ticking when we needed it most most notably against Stoke when most of the players looked **** scared. I'm not going in to the whole Man City thing its been done to death yes he let himself the fans and the club down so lets not go there.

Lets be honest, if he came back in Jan, was put in the team, team then starts winning, with Joey getting a few goals and assists along the way. We'd all be calling him the saviour and how we said all along we'd have him back. We are all fickle at times, especially when the beloved club is in trouble yet nobody on the inside can see it......

He would ruin the dressing room spirit, and isn't as good as any of faurlin/granero/diakite.
I don't remember him providing "steel" too frequently last season

edit: Not to mention that in interviews he talks about us with complete disdain and clearly would never want to play for QPR again

Really? He was tweeting best wishes and good luck to the lads in the run up to recent matches and suggesting the quality had to come through soon.
