Given that NW used the Captain's armband to encourage responsible and positive behaviours into Adel and Joey (imo), who will be given the armband at Newcastle? And will Joey get it back for Wigan? Derry perhaps?

One of my morning reflections is that I am more annoyed with Barton than I was yesterday. We were on top in the Norwich game and IF Barton had behaved himself then we MIGHT have won and that MIGHT have given Neil the transfer window. But then, of course, it is the manager's job to control his players. All too late now but, to address the OP, I think Barton has to remain captain due to grit he instills but must exercise COMPLETE self control.

I'm suspicious of Barton. I may be quite wrong, but I just have this feeling that from the moment that NW took the captaincy from Adel, and gave it to Barton, Barton has been calling the shots in the relationship between NW and Barton. As if Barton was saying, "your damn lucky to have an experienced player like me to manage, Warnock" and NW was replying, "Quite right, Joey. Whatever you do, I'm right behind you." If I'm right to any degree, I think Joey will find Sparky a different proposition...

Of course he should. His last three performances have been very good and people jump on the anti-Barton bandwagon when he gets sent off incredibly harshly. If that was any of our other players there wouldn't be half the vitriol.
If Mark Hughes gets the job maybe he will recommend Barton for Wales because his great great Grandfather did something unmentionable to a sheep. Should motivate him to play well. If Alex comes in in time what about him as captain. Will Mark be able to get Onuah in as he has worked with him before at Man City? Who from Fulham will he be after? Also he took Samba to Blackburn, will that help? Who do you want to replace Faurlin?
