@Joey7Barton: Good win tonight. Important to get another 90 mins under my belt. Delighted for @dannysimpson and Charlie Austin on their first goals...

@Joey7Barton: Another solid team performance. The attitude around the club is certainly changing for the better. Some good characters added to the squad.

My mate from work who is a Pompey fan, is on holiday down in the English Riviera and went to the game tonight. He has just text me to say that the R's were superb. He also said that Barton, Hoilett and Dunne were the stand out players.

Sounds like he's gone to see a very good sports psychologist. And it also might be that his wife told him to get his head on straight, he's got a kid he needs to look after, in front of whom he needs to be a good example.

I hope this means great things to come. For us. For all. For everybody in Joey's life.

Arry put out a good side. Wants to get them gelled quickly, I suppose. Good. I thought Dunne was injured still but I guess not!

All very encouraging stuff. Feels like we have a proper football club once again. Tony has learnt a very expensive lesson that has set the club on a course we thought we were on at the start of last season. I know it is 'only' Exeter but respect to them for hitting the bar and making a game of it.

Finally some thoughts to come out of social media in general are positive!

Here's hoping we put together a run similar to Warnock's promotion season where we put the league on notice that 1 promotion spot was ours

Agreed ....................... Many small steps equals, hopefully, one giant leap back into the PL at the end of the season.
I know I shouldn't get ahead of it all but rather, sit back and enjoy a great season! If the team starts to enjoy playing together, it will show and the points will come ............... and the beers will flow.

if Barton is our best player on the pitch we have to support him, I trust him to give 100% at the moment

i think this goes both ways. mark hughes and that other idiot, treated him quite badly. yes he messed up but sending him away in the way that they did no wonder he didn't want to come and play for us. joey has got a big mouth and should spend more time trying to keep it shut. if he is playing for us come the end of august and he plays the way he has then good for him he is most welcome in my view. i would even consider giving him the captains arm band. but he has to earn it

Barton doesn't talk that much sense but his two performances for us have been totally professional .. He is in the window and Marseille are waiting their time.

This will be a swan song maybe? backup and respect given on both parties.

Marseille are in the champions league and the sorry but once you have tasted long term South of France ... that changes your outlook

I wish him the best and if by some twist he stays then I think me may grow his own game.

We all have had to go back to the drawing board but QPR will come again and they will come stronger

I agree that he knows he is in the shop window and must play well without any controversy until the window closes, my fear is that Leopards never change their spots and if he is still with us after 2nd Sept I will expect him to return to his old ways!

Comments in today's Sun saying all the people he's 'assaulted' deserved a smack and his only regret was getting caught and going to jail. Pennance doesn't come easily...

Of course there will be problems ahead with Joey, but we have to make hay for now. What encourages me is that Harry has created a strong sense of team worth among the players, and "Rednapp/Jordan" runs through it like a stick of rock. Compare that with Hughes who focused on tactics and let the dressing room look after itself. The new motivated, disciplined regime may well suit Joey

So now hes talking positive but its not going to last, its Bartons, hes only weeks away from his next self destructive move.

    History has proven that.
