There is no doubting Joey Barton's ability, but it is his character that gives rise to doubts. More than once has Mark Warburton said he will only sign players that fit into the dressing room and add value to the squad and Club. Any disruptive and/or prima donna characters are not wanted and will not be recruited.
 
What on Earth are you talking about, Larry? Do you think he was invited up to Glasgow, given a tour of Ibrox and Auchenhowie and involved in contract talks without the manager's knowledge?
 
Certainly not without the Manager's knowledge, Widye.
As I said in the 'Let's be Frank' thread, I trust Mark Warburton's judgement in this matter.

20/05/2016 : Joey Barton is a controversial person, not on account of his undoubted ability as a footballer, but due to his character. Mark Warburton has said many times that Rangers will not recruit any player that would be a disruptive influence, so I trust MW's judgement of JB is based on more than that which is known in the public domain.

Oh ho big Audrey disne mind a wee fib or two. I spend a lot less time on the Celtic board than you spend on the Rangers board. In fact you spend a lot less time on the Celtic board than you spend on the Celtic board <laugh>
 
Big Audrey comes on to the Rangers board to WUM and only ever manages to wind himself up.
