Joey Barton did Q&A. This was one of the question and answers.

Joey Barton was asked " The thing you most regret?" Joeys answer? "Leaving Newcastle"

    Good answer.

Always liked Joey. Didn't do himself any good with some of his outspoken comments, but he did his real talking on the field.

When he lefted I was gutted I knew why we had to sell him
Top player 100 % effort on tge pitch could have been a regular for england if his issues were not there

none of his performances for QPR showed he was England class in the slightest, his heart was always with Newcastle and he is too much of a liability for any top team

Agree hence why I said I no why we sold him, by the time we sold him he was in a bad place
For us tho he was solid simple passes but effective with the abilty to spray a 40 yard pass to feet

I loved him as a Newcastle player. I understand why we sold him, but I loved him playing for us.

He was someone who could deliver a dead ball as well. Never been adequately replaced.

his dead ball play for QPR was awful, he hardly ever cleared the first man when he took a corner
I think he struggled in QPR's tight ground a bit

Must admit, I really didn't get it when Sham first signed him for us, but he was integral to our promotion back to the premier league and in our first season back. Was good to have around.

The promotion season, Harper, Barton and Smith appeared to be the players that were the driving force behind the scenes. Nolan, Carroll, etc may have taken the headlines but those three especially looked like the ones driving the team on.

I think that he will make a decent coach (not sure about manager), as he appears to be a basic kind of chap. He just has a tendency to errupt, he still does it look at the Ibrahimovic incident, although these are more comical than anything.

Wait a second... His biggest regret was leaving a football club? Not stubbing out a cigar in a team-mates eye or any of the vast variety of other assault charges (granted, it might be over 140 characters to get into all that)?

Tough ****. He talked too much ****. As much as Mike Ashley has acted like a ****er, if you insult your employers, you're gonna get the sack.

He left us for a money bags club for 70k a week.

    No sympathy.

He may have been an important player off the field in the Championship season, but he certainly wasn't on it - hardly played because of injury! It was all about Nolan and Guthrie in the centre.
