Have half heard a report on 5Live this morning, saying that a man in Liverpool has being arrested for punching 'our' Joey in the face last night. Can't find any other source on t'internet.
This just in... Police are questioning two Argentinians (one ugly, one effeminate looking) and a tall Belgian in connection with the incident. Witness statements that they were egged on by a slight, young man wearing a fez are being investigated.
9:07am, Mon 4 Jun 2012 Joey Barton believed to have been injured outside nightclub It is thought that Queens Park Rangers captain Joey Barton has been injured during an incident in Liverpool City Centre early this morning. Merseyside Police confirmed officers were called to Eberle Street at 5.30am following reports of an altercation outside a nightclub. A 29 year old man, believed to be Joey Barton, had suffered some injuries to his his face and left the scene voluntarily. Two 21 year old men were later arrested for a public order offence. They are currently in police custody. Police would not confirm that the injured 29 year old was Barton.
I believe those two midgets would not rare to go anywher near barton. Swordie otherhand with someone else from this forum has a motive and is probably big enough
I think it's really sad that anyone should find this amusing, or feel glad that it's happened. People slag Barton off for being a thug, want him out of the club, yet applaud when he is injured buy 'thugs'. Double standards? From what I've heard it was outside Garlands, in which case he should really be embarrased. I've seen him out in Liverpool before and he surrounds himself with an entourage of chavs (im guessing they're his family), so congrats to whoever managed to get through and hit him
Absolutely this !!! You just beat me to it mate, glad i'm not alone. How the f*** anyone can find this cowardly attack funny really is beyond me. Like him or not as a person OR as a player, does he really deserve this ? Does he deserve some of the vile comments said to him on twitter from people abusing him, his girlfriend, mother and even his newborn baby !!!!! And before anyone says he deserves it 'cos of the stupid crap he puts out then trust me there are more on here (me included sometimes) deserved of a beating than him. Truly f****** shaming in my opinion.
Bit strange - a non drinker out at 5:30am? I've walked through Ipswich town centre at 10pm on a Friday when sober (I try not to make a habbit of it) and it seems like Beirut on a bad day (carnage, wailing banshees and lots of knobs). Liverpool must surely be worse.
