Well he's on a free, be on big wages though, and comes with a lot of baggage.........mind you we were prepared to look at Goodwillie ;)

Barton would be immense in the championship, and could be just what we need ON the pitch, it's OFF the pitch that I would have reservations <ok>

On the pitch I would put him in the squad anyday of the week...

off the pitch, I am concerned as to whether his temperment could be a bad thing, but then everyone deserves a second (or third, or fourth, or fifth....) chance. We were looking at Goodwillie, and we have all seen what hes been in the press for... so yeah, if hes available and would come to us, why not

Same old Cardiff fans. Dreamland. Bellamy is chasing the dosh north of the border and HERE'S A NEWSFLASH! There's a Prem Club just 40 miles down the road that can offer Barton Prem wages. Not that I think he'll come anyway even if Rodgers wanted him. Why on earth would Barton drop down a division when Prem clubs and European clubs will be queing up? Get a frickin grip.

Your team is a shadow of what it was last season and you all know it. Barton still has a lot to offer on the pitch and it would be career suicide for him even if you could offer him enough dosh which is highly unlikely judging by your failure to land Goodwillie.

I assume your talking about Bristol because there is no way Swansea will pay premiership wages

You can get away with some bad tackles in the prem but refs in the championship like to prove a point.

Malakay is getting a great team spirit and he will not risk that for Barton.

He was given a chance and this is what he does in response.

"HERE'S A NEWSFLASH! There's a Prem Club just 40 miles down the road that can offer Barton Prem wages."

If you offered premiership wages, perhaps a few of your players wouldn't have left, and who knows some of your "premiership targets" might have signed? Barton probably won't come to Cardiff, but he won't go to Swansea eiither. IF he is prepared to drop down a league it will probably be Leicester, West Ham or an ESTABLISHED premiership team.

**** it, we didn't fail to land Goodwillie, we withdrew our interest as we'd already signed Earnie, Miller, Mason and Gestade. We were the first to meet the asking price, but with a court case hanging over his head, took a step back and took another option. Noce when you've got multiple options with players wanting to join your club. We beat Rangers to Miller you know!

One correct sentence from Sh!tontheRoad - "Why on earth would Barton drop down a division when Prem clubs and European clubs will be queing up?"

The rest was his usual rubbish. Okay we can dream and the Bellers dream looks back on if Tucker's reporting is correct (I wouldn't bank on that) but as for Barton coming to us, absolutely no chance and why would he?

Anyway, Barton and Bellers in the same changing room? For God's sake I wouldn't let then anywhere near the golf clubs!!!!

Barton has stated that he wouldn't rule out a move to one of the top teams in the championship, but in reality it'll be a Premier team that gets him.

It goes without saying that Barton would be an incredible signing, but in reality the best teams in the country including the old big 4 are all probably very interested also lots of European clubs are reportedly interested so unfortunately we have next to no chance of signing this lad.

Barton is too good for us I am afraid. I would love to see him in our midfield.
