I don't usually give a **** about ex players, when they're gone they're gone. But with it being recent and a big question of does he think he's better than he is?(we already know he thinks he's better than us) Well it's no secret I always favoured Maja and never got the Asoro hype but but still hoped he could turn into a player and that the scouts of all these big clubs could see something I couldn't. They're the profesionals after all. Well so far he's started 6 of the 8 games available. Dropped tonight. No goals and a single assist as their 1st choice right winger. Swans fans opinion is interesting. You get the point. Am I the only one feeling a tad satisfied by this? Anybody think he can still do well?
I’ve watched with interest when they’ve been on and he’s looked awful. I think he has a very good player in him but think the young lads head has been turned by his agent and the money! We’ve actually got better playing for us in Maguire, Hume, Gooch etc
I thought this kid with his pace and control could really make it big time. Just shows what I know about football then.
Is he playing as a striker or a winger for them? I always thought he was better up top but who knows. Honestly reckon him and Maja could have worked well together, but **** him Maja is working hard for the team, and getting goals for us and furthering his career at the same time, chuffed for Josh, forget Joel.
I didn't really think he'd make it, didn't see enough from him. He's obviously quick and it looks like he can finish but that's about it and it's not enough. He suffers from the same problem that a lot of nippy wingers do which is headless chicken syndrome, Watmore has the same thing to a lesser extent but his overall game is better.
When a player moves on I generally say good luck However this one good riddance not interested in him
So many promising youngsters don't manage to fulfill their early promise? I'm convinced that in many cases it's because they are pushed, too hard, too early. Sticking a kid in at a level he's not ready for can be a good thing if it's just the odd game to give him experience. However trying to make him a regular can often lead to a complete loss of confidence. Last Season, in The Ch/Sp, nobody honestly expected Asoro to tear the league apart and he did an ok job, coming off the bench, League Cup, odd games. Bringing him on gradualy. It seems though that Swansea Fans built up a whole raft of expectations onto him and that was predicable enough, if unfair. He would have been well advised to stick with us, at least till he had learned how to play football. He had the Fans on his side for a start, and that has to make things easier. Now he is going to have to do it the hard way, ie. win the Swansea Fans back. Good luck to him. His Agent to might just regret the move. He may well have got a bigger cut in a couple of years time. Time will tell.
Symptomatic of agents and the way football is now. I don't blame Joel, he's just a kid being advised by someone.
Thing that makes me think "**** him" more than anything is what Stewart Donald said about him having (sic) 'problems with something that happened at the club' but then never elaborating - he stated this was directly from the agent too! Guess it'll all come out in the wash. but he's not looked anywhere near the grade and £2m is starting to look a very good price for him
He can't finish for **** lads. I'm certain he ain't no striker and it looks like he can't play wide either. He's a David Bellion Mark II ultimately imo.
He was **** imo. And from what I was reading the Swans fans have put no pressure on him what so ever, there's no forum threads on him yet, very little on twitter up till these last few days(I know, I did the research for this thread). They accepted him as an unknown and are only just starting to form their opinions of him on a public platform. I don't call that a raft of expectations. Not sure how you've come to that conclusion. They're not being unfair imo, they're merely forming an opinion on one of their new players after they've now had a chance to see him. Would like some of the Swans to stick their head in this thread as the their Not606 isn't saying anything about him yet

You are quite right if you are saying I made an assumption about the Swansea Fans. I based this on how I would (and have in the past) react to us acquiring any promising player from a Club who apparently wanted to keep him. I'd be expecting to see something special or at least the potential. If I started to think that we had wasted our cash on rubbish I'd be just a bit put out, just like your latest research seemed to be showing. If you want a good example on how to bring a young player on, consider Duncan Watmore. He arrived with a bit of a splash in the local press then promptly dropped out of the limelight into the academy system where he continued his football education.
Think Pickford is the best example given we picked Duncan up late Sent from my Moto G (5) using Tapatalk
He has quality imo but has not progressed at the speed he expected to, his attitude was fine when he was here, a sad case really, I think we are judging him a harshly, and he still has time to show what he can do. I wish him well.
When players are taking their Coaching Badges, part of their course should include a section on bringing youngsters on. And the example of Jordan Pickford can't be bettered as to how it should be done. It should be drummed into them. He'd made over 120 First Team appearance's, out on loans at gradually higher level Clubs, before he was given his debut by his own club. The fact that SAFC made what might have turned out to be a Club saving fee out of his sale soon afterwards and he almost immediately became the country's number one number one, only underlines what a brilliant job was done there.
