I'd have him. Said on the other thread when talking to Nads, he's gone from being a borderline first teamer at Palace to being unattached. Remy has just signed for some club in Spain.
My take on it is.....Is Ledley better than what we have right now? I think he is, so I would take him for sure.
We have Williams, Gooch, Catts, Ndong, Rodwell, Gibson, Honeyman. Yeah good idea lets sign another central mid . Itll do our wage bill the world of good.

I mentioned on another thread and I think he'd be a cracking signing. We are covered in CM but he's better than all bar N'Dong and he's a proper grafter, I like him. Remy signed for Las Palmas.
I do think he'd be a good signing but I'm pretty sure the overall consensus would we'd rather have any free wages go on a forward like Lambert, regardless of what HITC make up, what with funds being limited and having no goal scorer.
I think it's always a good idea to sign a good player when the chance arises. Yes CM is a well stocked position for us but I'd rather improve the squad and cut loose any ****e we don't need then just stick with the ****e. Having said that he'll go to someone better than us, might well end up back in the prem. Palace were daft to let him go.
Do you really think Catts, Ndong , Williamson, Honeyman(as hes already shown),McNair with Gibson, Rodwell and Gooch makes our midfield really that poor?? Its a waste of a wage if we signed him in my opinion. Hed earn about 100k a month.
It's CM though and he'd probably be our best or close. Gibson is a waste of space, Rodwell's ok but always injured, McNair has potential but we don't know how good he really is and Gooch and Honeyman don't play in that position. If it was a case of paying for a transfer I wouldn't support it but just paying his wage I would because it improves us in an important area. I don't reckon he'll be on 100K either more like half that.
I know Gooch and Honeyman arent central both play an advanced central midfield role ideally although Honeymans been used out wide Catts, Ndong, McNair , Rodwell and Gibson is more than enough cover i think.
I dunno mate after Catts and Ndong I'm pretty ****ing dubious about our CMs. Mainly because of injuries but even when they aren't I'm not convinced they're up to standard and I know Gibson isn't. I think Williams is another attacking player who wouldn't fill in at CM.
What about McNair? We can just sign players incase we get an injury mate. Wilson played central mid for Stoke quite alot aswell. I like Ledley but id rather save our wagebill and try sign a good striker in Jan
McNair looked alright but not much better than Rodwell. I think we'll need Wilson at CB week in week out. If it was a choice of sign a striker or sign Ledley I'd deffo choose the striker but seems to me we could do both with Ledley being free. I know we're hard up but **** me I'd hope we've got enough to sign free agents. Our wage bill must be looking good now surely with only Rodwell on 60K plus.
McNair will come good trust me. I cant wait for him to get fit again. I searched tbe Man Utd forums after we signed him and alot of them were pished off wed signed him for only 5m and quite a few said hed be a 20m player in 2years time. Unfortunatly injuries have hindered his development but with him Catts and Ndong i reckon we have the best central mid partnership in the league. Ledley will be on at least 20k a week. Its money we dont need to spend. Weve done enough of that over the years.
Hope you're right about McNair, I do remember being impressed by him but it's difficult for me to stay enthusiastic about a player when you sign them and then a few games later they're crocked for a year. It's most likely a moot point about Ledley anyway, we haven't shown interest in him and there will be better teams than us who'll go for him. Like you say it's our strongest position so no worries there.
