Newcastle set to appoint him as DOF. Strange. Get to thinking they could end up relegated same as last time when we went up.
They were listing his responibilities on SSN earlier, then they mentioned Llambias(?) the MD, and how he is responsible for the finances. I honestly can't see what Pardew will be responsible for apart from sitting on the touchline. I hope Ashley has Pardew's consent for this, he's on one beast of a contract, and there is such a thing as constructive dismissal... I'd be livid if I were a Newcastle fan right now.
Seems as if Joe Kinnear has returned to Newcastle. The Geordie fans really love this appointment, read the comments. http://www1.skysports.com/football/...o-return-to-Newcastle-as-director-of-football
http://www1.skysports.com/football/...o-return-to-Newcastle-as-director-of-football It's true, read the comments at the bottom.
Could it be to try and make Pardew quit, rather than be sacked, meaning they wouldn't have to pay off his stupid contract?
I'd assume he'd already have a clause in his contract about being paid off, I can't see anyone getting that big a contract without some sort of protection for the club.
Alan Pardew must feel totally undermined. Can't see him staying for zero job satisfaction. A decent pay-off and he'll be away.
What's the point in a director of football? A manager knows what needs improving and who doesn't make the grade so why employ somebody to hire players? Completely pointless job role imo
