There must be better placed Directors of Football in Geordieland? Other than annoying the locals and giving everyone else a lot of enjoyment, what does he bring to the table? Incidentally, the motivation for a DOF is not a bad one - but you'd want it to be someone in it for the long haul and therefore respected - like Gerry Francis has been mentioned in the case of our club.

Don't know what all the fuss is about really! He's been in football a long time, he's sociable, easy to get along with and completely off his rocker! Quite refreshing to have someone like him back in the game. Why is everyone involved in football so uptight and serious? And why is everyone deemed a failure so fast, before they've even started? Last season was hardly a success up there under pardew after finishing 5th the year before. He might already have known about the appointment, and be happy with it.....
Pardew had an 8 year contract, they want to sack him but cant afford to, now they are trying to undermine him and force him out. Its doesnt look like working as Pardew isnt falling for it and said hes happy Kinnear is there.
Wise one Flyer you are of course absolutely correct again ... Newcastle don't want to keep Pardew or that idiot Kinnear ... it's a brilliant bit of public relations and the media have swallowed it ... it's today's way. I would even throw into the pot that QPR have planted the Remy Rapegate just so we keep him ... who knows how the illuminati work in todays society?
