    Huge wages, pushing 30. Non-starter.

Will probably be on too much money, but if he isnt he'd be a decent option for RW, where we are short of bodies.

This. Also this season he's been brilliant to say the least! Yes it's a poorer standard of league than the PL but the French league is very technically and IMO this is why it is suiting Joe Cole so well. He's got good quick feet, can pick a pass, can score, great dribbling ability and has great agility. Yes he's lost a yard of pace, yes he's injury-prone, yes he may be a bit too old/past it but watch this video.. and see..

He'll be a useful signing because of his versatile in attacking positions.. can play left, attacking mid or on the right hand side. <ok>

Like him, but has been said, too old for us.

Arguably scored the best goal England have scored at a world cup

I think he would be an excellent replacement for Joey Barton.

Would definitely add to the depth we would need if we're to go for Europe/cups.

Too old for us to even consider him, massive wages (on 80k a week total I think), and isn't the sort of player we're after.

    My bull**** rating = *****

Apart from the fact he's too old, I couldn't imagine wanting to come to Newcastle anyway.
