Comments recently on other threads about Joe's best position and his headed goal at Shrewsbury have given me some ideas.

He has good pace, can outjump much taller players.
He can tackle as has played left back at times.
He has scored a couple of important goals this season.

If I was SC, I would try him at second centre half!
Not as the first ball winner, but as the one who sweeps up by using his pace to nullify times when the opposition get past the full backs and the ball winner, big centre half.

We had someone like that a while ago. Geoff Merrick.

    Any thoughts lads/lassies?

Whilst its a good idea, he wouldn't push, Flint, Osborne and Williams out of the team. For me his best position(s) are down the left. LB/LWB/LM/LW. Any of these he can play comfortably but whilst we have Cunningham again, I cant see him getting in the team. When Greg is on form, he's the best in the league at what he does. Bryan really needs to up his game if he has a future here, will only be a young un for so long.

Formations is another obstacle for him, if Cotterill plays 3-5-2 he wont play, Williams and Cunningham will play down the left. I honestly think the only time we'll see him is in a 4-3-3 with Bryan playing LW.
