http://www.bcfc.co.uk/news/article/20130502-bryanonargyle-805348.aspx Think he will be a great/big player for us next season. Plymouth fans/management rate him highly and I think league 1 will suit him perfectly.
He's the only academy product I'm genuinely excited about. He could do a job in League 1, and I hope to see him start games, rather than be a bench player.
I spoke to my friend who is a season ticket holder at Plymouth and he said that Joe Bryan has been a very good player for them and has improved them a lot defensively. The only point he made when I said to him that for us he looked better at left back than left midfield he said that, that made sense as Joe Bryan when given the ball will look to pass rather than take on his man. For me I would like to see Joe Bryan at left back and have Greg Cunningham on the left of midfield as as like Bale who started at left back and moved further forward I think Cunningham is a similar player as there has been a few times already this season where he has made runs in to the box with the ball where Bryan looks good defensively and is a good crosser of the ball so would rather see them the other way round.
Not trying to change the thread but following andy's post; would Cunningham make a good left sided centre back? At the very least he has more pace than Fonts.
well Fonts is 6ft 1 and Cunningham is 6ft so hardly any difference between the 2. I think Cunningham will only work as a back 3. Like Moloney Tangs Cunningham.
His strength is his offensive game but he is a bloody good defender too. When the opposing team attacks you feel confident that Cunningham will sort it out. He is a great left back and I think that is where he should stay.
I was just thinking that Bryan may be a better left back than wide left midfield so you then think how to accomodate both Bryan and Cunningham. Maybe Cunningham at LCB with Bryan at LB OR Bryan at LB and Cunningham Left Midfield. I would really hope that both will be regulars in the side next season.
My old man is an Argyle fan and he has been raving about Joe. Whilst not single handly he has been a very major factor in them avoiding relegation out of the Football League since he went on loan. From these reviews, I am pretty sure he can build on that and do a job in L1.
I thought he was class in his debut against Leicester, did the simple things well (always a good sign), had plenty of time on the ball (another one) and misplaced ONE pass all night. Bright future ahead...
