Everton and Southampton are sniffing again... http://footballleagueworld.co.uk/everton-and-southampton-eye-move-for-21-year-old-defender/
Our manager and players WILL cause a great deal of interest this summer after the season we have had. However what has been created at Ashton Gate is a bit special, and the players and manager are not idiots. They will know the potential for another magical season and the possible journey that lies ahead. Lansdown will try to put us in the Premiership - that is his dream, and a few of us share it He will repel whoever comes asking questions about our best players, and ensure that now we have our house in order we keep it so
If Joe is tempted he needs to read that both these teams are looking for BACK ups to the regurlars in their teams. Anyways I heard he will be loaned back to us in the first season if he signs for one of those teams. But would still hate to see him leave.
Sadly it will still most likely come down to money, it usually does. For example just say he's on £5k a week at City now and Everton offer him £30k a week to play in their reserves what's he going to do ? He'll sign for Everton of course we all would despite what we might say on here. If he doesn't he could spend the rest of his career with us and never play in the Prem and not be able to retire from work at 35.
Depends on the fee really. If they will be offering 2-4 million then we have to sell. We could use that money to potentially get us promoted and no offence to Joe, he can be replaced. We really need to buy and sell right in this summer. Players like Freeman, Smith and Flint will be incredibly hard to replace with the same quality who won't cost a small fortune. We could buy a decent LW/LWB to replace Bryan quite cheaply. Having said all that I would hope he stays and help our cause for premier league football.
I'd rate him at £2.5m, easily, but I reckon we'll sell for about £1m. We've not got the best history with getting big money for our players, and sadly I think the man in charge isn't the person that will be dictating the fee we get.
Its amazing that we / people would expect to get less than £3m for Joe,, He is young and has had a good season and on the way up. So £3m should be the starting price.... Flinty, he is much the same, as is Freeman....
We have to sell if the money is right otherwise players won't come if we never allow them to leave. We are not a very big fish like premier league clubs......yet
Joe Bryan is a young, intelligent wing back with good energy who can play on the left side, score goals and is incredibly good in the air for his size. He's worth more than £2m..
His brother plays rugby with my mate, and he tells me that he is the same as Joe. He can jump and catch the ball higher than normal for his size.
Sometimes you have to take things like this with a pinch of salt - I remember once that Fontaine was linked with a move to Liverpool! That said, I can believe that Bryan would probably attract as much interest as anyone in our squad, given his age. Although it's correct that he would likely be looking to play at the highest level he can on the best money, he is a local lad playing for his boyhood club, so he may be less willing to move away from home to a Premiership club just to be stockpiled.
He's worth more than that to us, but the second he wants out the asking price will plummet. Adomah should've gone for far more, as should Maynard, and many of the other players we've sold for peanuts. Going by our recent history, if someone puts in a bid it'll be for less than £2-3m and we'll probably sell.
