I thought Joe Anyinsah had a really good game on Saturday. We've been crying out for someone who can hold the ball up , bring people in and create layoffs/opportunities for others. He works well with Eaves and links the play well. I think McGhee's found his best position. Eaves is definitely a handful, but he's looked isolated recently and he needs someone else to help him out instead of being a lone striker. The three who were supposed to supply him in the Sheffield and Southend games weren't quite up to the job and the ball just kept coming back and putting the back four under pressure all the time. So I hope Anyinsah gets a run in the side alongside Eaves because he can be a class act. He may even get a few more goals, but even if he doesn't a few others will.
i didnt go saturday so it nice to hear from those who actually did. the radio didnt really paint a good picture of any of them apart from etheridge and eaves. last season i was impressed we signed him but i failed to see anything last season in him apart from the odd cracking goal. i heard an interview from him on the way home on bbc radio, he seems more positive and determind to stay part of the starting team. if he keeps scoring then great and if he plays well as you say then great. i prefer him out the wing than up front though
I've really wanted Joe to do well....I know him of sorts and he (and his brother) are genuine blokes. But I have to admit that up 'til now he has disappointed, though I saw him score a wonder goal at Morecambe last season. He has a languid way which does him no favours. There were signs on Saturday that maybe, just maybe, he may come out of the Last Chance saloon.
