He's usually good in the tackle but was poor today.

  3. I am going to guess at 'yes' based on the fact he has eleven career goals <whistle>

Edit: nothing wrong with his tackling, his timing was just a bit off today <ok>

The midfield as a whole were nothing special today.

They weren't bad, but they never looked like dominating the game for sustained periods.

There were times today that I felt sure that Allen was trying to help Swansea by giving away freekicks on the edge of the area.

Bad game but he wasnt the only one today

  6. At the risk of sounding like I am trying to defend the lad, maybe he was trying too hard against his former club...?

He wouldn't want a step down.

Have you even got running water in Swansea yet?

Really don't rate the guy, doesn't offer much going forward and can't defend.

I think it's fair to say, both sets of fans would be disappointed with their respective teams today, but both are going in the right direction!.........<ok>

  14. Finally, a sensible comment <ok>

I said above that both teams will be disappointed not to have won today but a draw was probably a fair result <ok>

Joe looked very poor today and looked as if he was still playing for the swans with his passes.........I think that is nerves playing back where it all started for him as a 9 year old......He is better than that and he knows it.....happy with a point that you could have and should have taken all 3.....

Judge Allen when he is playing in his proper position further forward. Once Lucas is back then the whole midfield will be better balanced. Allen has great passing ability and its obvious his strength is not in his tackling but played further forward he has the ability to pick out a killer pass something no one else seems to possess at the moment.
He's still young but didn't play well today but then neither did Gerrard . Our biggest problems at the minute is lack of invention around the opponents penalty area, finding a crucial pass and poor distribution from the wings.

He made a goal line clearance today, saved a point?

One of those games - both teams played well in bursts. Liverpool more so than us. But neither team really had that decisiveness infront of goal. Hernandez had a couple of great shots, Sterling had a blinder off the bar, Joe Allen cleared off the line, Sterling messed up a 2 on 1 break... Dragon and Gerrez are right, both of us will be cursing our teams for not knocking one in and taking all three points.

The Liverpool team, to me, looked like it had improved since the beginning of the season. Joe looked off. He scored 7 goals in 130 appearances for us, so he's never been a goalscorer, but his usual job of hassling, tackling and keeping posession wasn't as effective as it has been, and will be in the future.

I can't help but think that Sigurdsson should have chosen Liverpool as they really do need that sort of link player at the moment and he's not really getting involved at Spurs. Suarez is a bit too isolated and it's only really Sterling who joins up with him. Two more creative players to link up with him and the team will really get going. Don't think Dempsey would have been the answer, but Sigurdsson or that creative type would have been perfect.

Just might thoughts - in peace.

P.S. Thanks for the kind words about the support - we're looking to expand to 32k at the moment. Go ahead all set for as soon as we guarantee third season. Can't believe it really. When I started watching them in 95 we were chuffed when we got to 4k!!

    Jesus massive expansion!

I've been impressed how easily Swansea have transferred into a Premiership team.

When you pipped Cardif the other year I thought you might get a pounding and then pop down a few Leagues. I was wrong!

You're write on Sigurdsson. We missing something in the final third. Glad we missed out on Dempsey - although only if we had got someone better - which we didn't!

Not really sure what you guys need. Seems a fairly good balance at the moment.

    All the best <ok>
