Im very quickly falling in love with Joe Allen. Such a simple player that hardly ever seems to give the ball away no matter what pressure he's under. He can be our new Xabi Alonso!

totally agree. watching spearings efforts which involved either kicking it in the genral direction of someoen or waving his arms at centre halves to pass it to someone else and then watching allen come in and just pass, move, be avaiable, dropping in behind agger to let him carry it.. just being quick and accurate as you guys have said... well it was night and day. If allen works as hard as alonso did.. well he might not have the long passes or shootings from half way but he could be the guy to really fill that role. the first half was desperately annoying as adam smashed it 70 yards, shelvey was all over the place in a bad way and wildly inaccurate in passing and spearing was only decent when off the ball defending. Allen gave us a real lift which is great. I'm hoping to see a midfield now of sahin lucas and allen soon. I'm worried about up front though, borini aint it IMO, better than n'dog by miles but not a finished article..... its getting obvious carroll is not wanted so if we've suarez and borini wider we need a striker badly.
