I know this was mentioned a while back and Dev proceeded to inform us that rhyme and slang originated in Glasgow and not within earshot of the Bow Bells in good old London Town. The ****ty local station is on the radio at the moment and they are all on about how Eastenders is to blame for the eradication of the scottish accent. What a pile of ****e, seriously. There are so many diverse dialects in Scotland and I don't notice anyone speaking like Cockney ****ah in Viz. I mean honestly guv would you adam and eve it, innit. Nuffink of the sort, blimey. Ows abou a nice cuppa rosie lea me ol china?
They said the use of F instead of Th is due to cockney ... It isn't, it because a lot of us Scotch are lazy speakers!

Good Lord this cannot be true? It looks as if my years of watching Downton Abbey and Upstairs Downstairs has had the same effect on me.
Not true fannyfart. I'm proud of having no national identity. It's the main reason why I get on so well with darkies, pakis, spics and the like.
