Defence giant BAE Systems has announced that 1,775 jobs are to go across its three shipyards. In addition the firm will end shipbuilding at the historic dockyard in Portsmouth with 940 jobs to go there by the second half of 2014, reducing the 1,200 workforce to just 260.
