Sadly died, aged 68. Signed from Huddersfield in 1971, big money at the time. Went on to captain City Fierce mid field battler. Toothless grin, long greasy hair, never backed out of a 50/50 tackle in his life. RIP Jimmy McGill.
Blimey didn't realise he was that age and yes he was tenacious a kind of Hull City Billy Bremner, until we got the real thing that is. RIP Jimmy you join up with Jock again proper tacklers who would have had the likes of Costa, Skrtel, and other prima donnas running for cover. Thanks for the memories.
I remember Jimmy nearly putting Wilie Morgan over the barrier into West Stand with a massive tackle when we beat Man Utd in '74
The same tune came into my head as soon as I saw the name. One of those who always found time for a word when you came across him at away games. RIP
Blast from the past. Memories of the early to mid seventies. Huge side burns and long greasy hair. RIP Jimmy.
