    Former Swansea City man Dzemal Hadziabdic

    SWANSEA City great Dzemal Hadziabdic has been appointed head coach of Iraq.

    Known as Jimmy, Hadziabdic starred for Swansea in their golden period under John Toshack in the early 1980s.

    The 61-year-old former Yugoslavian international has previously coached in Qatar and the UAE, and will be Iraq's third coach this year.

    Iraq, who finished third in the Asia Cup in January, do not play home games in their country due to security concerns.


    Hadziabdic will lead Iraqi in their joint qualifying campaign for World Cup 2018 and the 2019 Asian Cup, according to the Iraq FA website.
